Safe Steps Family Violence Response Centre is Victoria’s only 24/7 statewide family and domestic violence crisis support service.
Operating as the single entry point for victim-survivors across the state, Safe Steps provides immediate, confidential, and inclusive support to anyone experiencing or afraid of family violence, regardless of gender, age, background, or circumstance.
Last year, we responded to over 130,000 contacts from people in crisis. Our Sanctuary Model has achieved a 97% safe and sustainable exit rate, recognised by the Prime Minister’s Rapid Review Panel as a national best-practice model.
We serve every Victorian in crisis regardless of background, disability, gender identity or language, and every year we lead Victoria’s Candlelight Vigil to honour lives lost to family violence.
