Behind every person with a mental health challenge is a carer. Too often, that carer is a child or young person.

More than one million Australian children and young people live with a parent or family member experiencing mental illness. Many provide emotional or practical care while also managing school, friendships, study, work and their own wellbeing. Yet many do not identify as carers and remain unsupported until the pressures they face reach crisis point.

Satellite Foundation exists to change that.

Satellite supports children and young people aged 8-25 who are impacted by family mental health challenges. Through creative, non-traditional programs grounded in connection, peer support and lived experience, Satellite helps young people feel recognised, supported and understood.

This work is about prevention and early intervention. By reaching young people early, Satellite helps them build resilience, strengthen their wellbeing and maintain connections to education, relationships and future opportunities.
