Schizy Inc is a unique world-leading arts organisation based in Melbourne-Naarm for people with complex mental health disability such as schizophrenia. Disabled led and informed, we create and support innovative pathways into training and employment for people who experience multiple barriers including stigma and social disadvantage. Schizy Inc operates within the Social Model of disability, placing accountability on the attitudes, structures and practices of society to embrace our diverse bodies and minds.
Schizy Inc believes people with complex mental health deserve equal access and valid contribution to the arts and society, and is a signatory to the Charter of Compassion. Schizy Inc is recipient of the first Melbourne Award for Access and Inclusion, for its pioneering arts project Mojo Festival of Arts for World Schizophrenia Day. Schizy is founded and Directed by Heidi Everett, one of Australia’s leading contemporary mental health lived experience advocates, award-winning multi-sector artist and producer, and neurodiverse Disability consultant/public speaker.
