Organisation Summary

ShoreTrack Ltd is a not-for-profit charity and work-integrated social enterprise based in the Nambucca Valley on the NSW Mid North Coast. We exist to re-engage young people aged 10–25 through hands-on, trade-based learning and real-world employment pathways.

Our vision is that every young person, no matter their background, has access to the skills, confidence, and connections needed to build a positive future. Our mission is to create inclusive, locally led education and employment pathways that strengthen young people, families, and communities.

ShoreTrack operates a social enterprise—STeps—providing paid work experience across trades such as metal fabrication, building, landscaping, automotive, and agriculture. Young people are picked up each morning, provided with hot breakfast and lunch, supported to complete driving hours with ShoreTrack volunteers and staff, and connected to external supports for barriers such as housing, mental health, and alcohol and other drugs.

We support participants through accredited and pre-accredited training, including Certificate II in Rural Operations and Agriculture (in partnership with TOCAL College and local industry), as well as ShoreTrack’s Verification of Competency and short course certifications aligned to industry benchmarks. Programs such as Track Back and First Tracks reconnect school-aged youth with learning through hands-on, small-group environments.

Since 2020, over 850 young people have participated, achieving a 93% completion and/or transition-to-employment rate in our Certificate II pathway.

Future plans include opening Gumma Place, an independent specialist trade-based school for Years 9 and 10, welcoming our first 22 students in early 2026 and expanding to 40 students by 2027.
