SNAICC - National Voice for Our Children

SNAICC – National Voice for our Children is the national voice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. As the national peak body, we engage and amplify the voices of children, young people, their families and communities, to create sustained positive systemic and institutional change at every level

We represent Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, communities and organisations to Australian governments, prioritising culturally-led, self-determined, and evidence-based approaches.

SNAICC’s work bridges the child protection and early years education sectors across all levels to improve opportunities and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families. We advocate for and support the development of critical services to improve access to holistic, culturally safe and wraparound services for those who need them.

Our members are Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCO) including early childhood education and care, child and family services, and jurisdictional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peak bodies. SNAICC provides a platform for our members to have a stronger voice in influencing legislation, policy and practice to improve outcomes for our children.

We work in innovative ways, including extensive partnerships, whether it is designing new systems and policy, strengthening our sector, and bringing their stories to a wide audience to leverage our advocacy and progress our reform agenda.

SNAICC also provides direct on-ground support to our members through capability building to early childhood services, resource and training development, leadership development, and program excellence through communities of practice.
