Soap Aid is a not-for-profit and social enterprise committed to save the lives of vulnerable children and their families through improved hygiene while positively impacting the environment. It is our belief that soap is fundamental to a person's dignity.
Our humanitarian and environmental mission is made possible by our partnership with the accommodation industry. We divert waste soap from the accommodation, manufacturing and resources sector in Australia and New Zealand and recycle the waste soap into brand new recycled soap bars at our recycling plant in Dandenong, Melbourne.
We deliver the recycled soap, through community partners on the ground, to vulnerable communities in Australia, New Zealand and overseas to reduce deaths as a result of preventable hygiene related diseases like pneumonia and other respiratory and diarrheal diseases, skin infections and trachoma.
Our Community Impact Partners are selected to distribute our free recycled soap bars based on their knowledge of the health requirements of their community and work closely with local communities to distribute hygiene supplies and provide vital hygiene education on the importance of handwashing with soap. We believe children are the changemakers, so we like to ensure soap and hygiene education is provided to children to pass on the knowledge to their wider community.
With our Accommodation and Community partners, we aim to achieve lifesaving and sustainable improvements in community health outcomes.
Saving lives one bar at a time!
