Sports Environment Alliance

Sports Environment Alliance (SEA) is Australia’s peak body for environmental action in sport, a DGR1 charity that leads, educates and empowers the entire sport ecosystem to take action for a sustainable and regenerative future. Founded over a decade ago during a politically challenging period for climate initiatives, SEA has established itself as the essential bridge connecting grassroots clubs, national sporting organisations, government agencies and industry partners in advancing environmental stewardship across Australian sport.

As we conclude 2025, we reflect on the past 10 years and today but focus on how we can help shape Australia’s climate and sporting future.

As a peak industry organisation for sport, we focus on:

● Growing our peak body role: Continue representing the sporting sector as Australia’s recognised authority on environmental action in sport
● Deliver professional development: Maintain our critical events programme, including planning for our 2026 national Summit and advocacy
● Expand education and training: Continue and grow our offerings to member organisations, and wider industry, build capability across the sporting sector
● Advance advocacy: Continue positioning sport as an environmental leader in policy, planning and public advocacy.
● Maintain momentum: Build on achievements from our founding year in 2015 through to our recent SEA Summit 2025 and Green Sports Day Australia, ensuring these initiatives create lasting sector transformation
