Streetwork is a local youth charity helping to turn young lives around. We support vulnerable young people and their families through early intervention, trusted relationships, mentoring, practical support, and advocacy.

Streetwork works with young people who may be experiencing family conflict, school disengagement, mental health concerns, alcohol and other drug issues, housing instability, contact with police or youth justice, or a lack of safe adult support. Many are at the point where the right support, at the right time, can change the direction of their future.

Our model is practical, relational, and consistent. Qualified Youth Caseworkers walk alongside young people without judgment, helping them build trust, set goals, reconnect with education, training, work, health, housing, and community services, and make safer, stronger choices.

Streetwork is best placed to do this work because of its long-standing local presence, specialist youth work model and focus on early intervention before challenges become entrenched. Our current priorities are to reach more young people earlier, reduce waiting times, strengthen face-to-face mentoring, support young people in moments of crisis, and build sustainable funding for direct youth work.

Funding will help Streetwork provide trusted support when it matters most, including mentoring, outreach, practical assistance, referrals and police station advocacy. Evidence of impact includes 93% of young people achieving their goals, 85% of young people with crime challenges not re-offending, and external measurement indicating a 16:1 social return on investment.
