We aim to empower survivors and break the cycle of Family and Domestic Violence by providing a path away from violence. This mission has extended to those experiencing homelessness and unemployment. Survivors R Us addresses these issues through material, financial, and psychosocial support.
Our vision is to create a future free from Domestic Violence. We aim to minimise the effects of domestic abuse, homelessness, and unemployment by providing a safe, friendly, and non-judgmental environment for clients to receive help.
We do not discriminate based on gender, race, age, religion, or sexual orientation. We wholly and completely embrace the need for diversity within the community and the vibrancy which this brings to society. We firmly believe that any form of oppression leads to divisions within the community allowing domestic abuse, homelessness, and unemployment to propagate in our society.
In the 8 years of the foundation, we have helped 130,000 people with some form of help like counselling, support, food, clothing, furniture. Our biggest problem is funding as we are all volunteers there are 110 volunteers through-out a week just trying to make a difference but with no funds its hard. With funding we can give more food for people in need and get more people in housing is our biggest struggle.
