Teach Speak Hear (TSH) delivers highly specialised early intervention programs that build critical listening, speech and language skills for children with hearing loss and communication challenges. Each year, children start school without the words they need to connect, learn and thrive. Without early intervention, they risk falling behind for life. Children supported through TSH demonstrate measurable gains in communication, confidence and engagement in learning, reducing the need for more intensive support later.
TSH supports infants, children and young people during the critical early years and beyond, when timely intervention has the greatest impact on developmental, educational and lifelong outcomes. We work with children experiencing hearing loss, speech and language delay, developmental language disorder and associated learning challenges, many from families unable to access or afford timely support.
Beyond early intervention, TSH delivers the Outpost program, one of the only models of its kind in Australia, partnering with schools to provide sustained, interdisciplinary support for students with hearing loss aged 6–17. Each partner school is supported by a TSH Teacher of the Deaf, an education assistant, and regular on-site consultations and assessments delivered by TSH’s allied health team, including speech pathologists, audiologists, occupational therapists and psychologists.
TSH Outreach programs provide equitable access to ear health, speech pathology and early intervention services across Western Australia, from Perth to regional and remote communities.
TSH is one of Western Australia’s most trusted not-for-profit charities, with more than 60 years’ experience delivering evidence-based early intervention and school-based support, empowering children.
