Techie Australia is a registered charity focused on bridging the digital divide for disadvantaged youth. We provide technology and support to ensure every young person has the tools they need to fully participate in education.
We collect donated devices (laptops, desktops etc) and professionally refurbish them for reuse. When donated stock isn’t enough, we fundraise to supply brand-new devices. The goal is simple; get working tech into the hands of young people who need it most.
Our work centres on youth education, partnering with schools, community organisations, and families to identify gaps and deliver practical, immediate support. Every device is paired with basic setup help and optional digital literacy guidance, so students aren’t left to figure it out on their own.
We take data security seriously, following strict data-erasure and handling protocols to ensure donors’ information is wiped and devices are safe to reuse. We also care about sustainability, giving second life to unwanted tech, we keep usable devices out of landfill and reduce e-waste.
Whether it’s a refurbished laptop or a new tablet purchased through community support, Techie Australia is committed to making education more accessible, one device at a time.
