The Aliyah Mae Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation established in loving memory of three-year-old Aliyah Mae, who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in 2024. Our mission is to ensure that no family has to walk the path of child loss alone. We provide compassionate, trauma-informed support to bereaved families and advocate for safer, more accountable healthcare systems for children.
In Australia, bereaved parents often face their grief in isolation, without adequate support or clear pathways forward. Families are left navigating trauma, financial strain, and unanswered questions. Founded by a bereaved mother with lived experience, our foundation offers meaningful support and advocacy rooted in deep personal understanding.
Our current goals:
- Bereavement Support Hub: A trauma-informed online resource for families and professionals.
- Aliyah’s Gift: A therapy support program funding access to trauma-informed counselling.
- ICU Care Packs: Practical and emotional support for families with a critically ill child.
- Systemic Advocacy: Promoting reforms to improve safety and accountability in paediatric healthcare.
- Grief Resources: Including our flagship guide So, What Happens Now?, distributed free nationwide.
Since launching in 2024, we’ve delivered over 100 ICU care packs, supported families Australia-wide, and become a voice for change in paediatric healthcare.
