The Mission to Seafarers (MtS) provides help and support to the 1.9 million men and women who face danger every day to keep the global economy afloat. MtS works in over 28 ports in Australia and PNG caring for seafarers of all ranks, nationalities and beliefs.
Through its global network of chaplains, staff and volunteers, MtS offers practical, emotional and spiritual support to seafarers through ship visits, drop-in seafarers’ centres and a range of welfare, justice support and emergency support services.
The Australian Council oversees, supports and encourages the work of every Mission to Seafarers (MTS) centre in our region. We strive to promote an atmosphere of family, a sense of service and solidarity among those in maritime ministry and strengthen ties between Australian and international MTS centres to reinforce our global MTS family and support networks. We provide training and opportunities for collective experiences.
