The Collective Initiative (TCI) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to engaging and supporting at-risk youth by building independence, developing essential life skills, and creating pathways for a brighter future.
Our mission is to empower young people to overcome barriers, foster resilience, and connect meaningfully with their communities.
Many young people face challenges such as social isolation, limited access to opportunities, and difficulty transitioning into independence. These barriers often affect their confidence, wellbeing, and long-term outcomes.
TCI is uniquely positioned to address these issues by offering consistent, supportive programs that combine skill development with social inclusion. Our Programs & Priorities
We deliver weekly programs designed to meet the diverse needs of youth in our community:
Tuesday: Team sports and creative activities promoting teamwork, patience, and resilience.
Wednesday: Independent living and employment readiness (resume writing, job applications, travel training, cooking, and hygiene education).
Thursday: Small-group park-based activities encouraging socialisation and creativity through games and crafts.
Friday: Larger social and community-based outings (e.g., bowling, ice skating, Flip Out) to build confidence, reduce anxiety, and strengthen social connections. Our current priority is to expand these programs, reach more young people, and provide the resources needed to deliver hands-on experiences in healthy living, employment preparation, and community participation.
Through our programs, participants gain practical skills, improved confidence, and greater social inclusion. We have seen young people develop stronger communication skills, build friendships, and demonstrate resilience in both personal and social settings. Funding will directly support program delivery, materials, and resources that enable us to continue.
