The Men’s Shed community is Australia wide and is inclusive of First nation’s people, individuals experiencing mental health issues, veterans, women and are a vital component of the strength in rural communities. The enrichment and inclusivity is immeasurable in the lives of members and members families.
The Norseman Men’s Shed is a hive of activity that contributes to the school, repair work for the community and a collection point for recycled cans, cartons and bottles, which in turn generate an income for the shed and donations to St John Ambulance, Parent’s and Citizens Committee together with the Royal Flying Doctor.
Recently, as the lease expired with the Shire of Dundas, the Shed moved to new premises, and we require an upgrade to the electrical system to accommodate three phase power and power the hydroponic units that will provide fresh vegetables to the local community. The hydroponic project is a new venture as all fresh produce is trucked into our very arid town.
