The Storey Players (TSP) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to empowering young people—especially in remote First Nations communities—through drama, storytelling, and filmmaking. Their mission is to build confidence, enhance literacy, and foster cultural pride by collaborating with young people to share and perform their stories, often in endangered Indigenous languages.
Since 2017, TSP has travelled thousands of kilometres across Queensland, the Northern Territory, and New South Wales, working closely with schools, Elders, and language workers to co-create original theatre productions and short films. These projects are not just creative outputs—they are living archives of culture, language, and community spirit.
At the heart of TSP’s work is a commitment to deep listening, long-term relationships, and cultural respect. Through immersive residencies and workshops, they create safe and vibrant spaces for young people to express themselves, explore identity, and connect with their heritage. Whether on a remote red-dust oval or in a century-old opera house, TSP believes every young person has a story worth telling—on their terms and in their voice.
