Triple R Broadcasters

Triple R is not-for profit, independent community radio based on Wurundjeri Country (Melbourne, Australia).

Since 1976, Triple R has connected listeners to the cultural fabric of the city, the nation, and even the world. On 102.7FM and 3RRR Digital, the Triple R App, and rrr.org.au, Triple R has over 70 different programs, a local focus, and a global reach. These programs are presented by volunteers who play what they want to play, and say what they want to say, resulting in a diverse array of music and talks programming: freeform, volunteer, and 100% algorithm-free.

Triple R relies on listener subscriptions and donations to keep running – truly listener funded radio. We’re not beholden to shareholders or advertisers; we’re here to serve our community of listeners and offer them a genuine, intelligent and considered alternative. This unique relationship with listeners also connects with people in more ways than just on-air.

The Triple R Performance Space hosts live broadcast Triple R subscriber-exclusive gigs ranging from unsigned local to touring international musicians, comedy, theatre and in-conversation events in an intimate and purpose built space with a 150 person capacity. As well as running its own weekly gigs,Triple R plays host to Victoria’s most extensive gig guide promoting 7500+ events a year for free, and partners with the city’s arts and music organisations and festivals, making the station the ultimate guide to cultural life in Melbourne/Naarm.
