Wildcare Tasmania

Wildcare Tasmania is a community of members, volunteers, and donors dedicated to caring for Tasmania’s wild places, wildlife, and cultural heritage. Through our state-wide network of Wildcare Groups and 1500+ strong membership, we unite and support people to protect and sustain our natural environment for future generations to experience and enjoy.

Wildcare supports the protection and management of Tasmania’s wild places and natural values through community engagement in targeted conservation programs. We support communities and volunteer contributions, to ensure the long-term protection of Tasmania’s natural environment.

Wildcare operates two complementary pillars:

• Wildcare Operations – building community capacity
  Donations to our operations fund our small professional team, enabling training, WHS systems, insurance, governance, volunteer support, and partnership coordination across Tasmania. Stable operational funding ensures volunteers can work safely, effectively, and at scale.
• Tasmanian Nature Conservation Fund (TNCF) – funding on-ground conservation
  Donations to the TNCF support competitive grants for habitat restoration, threatened species protection, wildlife care, and cultural and natural heritage projects. All donations are directed into one consolidated fund managed by Wildcare, allowing flexible support for the most impactful volunteer-led conservation initiatives across the state.
