Women’s Legal Service Queensland (WLSQ) is dedicated to creating safer futures for women and children who are impacted by domestic and family violence (DFV).

Established in 1984 at a time when DFV was largely kept behind closed doors, each year the WLSQ specialist staff and volunteers now assist over 15,000 women in need through the provision of over 44,000 free legal and support services. Over one-third of women helped by WLSQ are experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity, 9% identify as First nations and one-third are born overseas. The support provided by WLSQ is life changing and lifesaving. With growing community need all community support is greatly appreciated and directly aids in assisting more women and children in need.
