Yarra Foundation was founded by a group of Iranian immigrants in 2013 at Melbourne, Australia’s remarkable and multicultural city. The Yarra Foundation for Disadvantaged Children Inc (Yarra Foundation) has been established to provide relief of poverty, disability, destitution, suffering, misfortune, and helplessness for disadvantaged children in Iran/
Yarra Foundation is driven by a mission to reduce poverty and inequality. The charity is committed to providing opportunities to underprivileged children, including children with mental and physical disabilities and those living in poverty in remote areas, enabling them to break out of the poverty cycle and realise their full potential. The ultimate aim of Yarra Foundation is to create a more equitable society, which is not determined by socio-economic status, and every child has an opportunity to succeed.
At the Yarra Foundation, our activities are grounded in our commitment to five key categories for the most disadvantaged children:
– Disaster Relief: empowering children in need affected by natural disasters such as earthquakes, flood and drought
– Disability Services: enabling children in need with disabilities such as providing hearing and eye aids, wheelchairs, etc
– Refugees and Asylum Seekers: supporting refugee and asylum seeker children in Iran, especially from Afghanistan
– Child Labours: Eliminating child labours by providing psychological support, education, nutritional food etc
