Youth Live4Life Ltd

Live4Life is the only youth mental health education and suicide prevention model designed specifically for rural and regional communities. Informed by lived experience, Live4Life is an evidence-based, placed-based, peer-led model developed in consultation with young people that builds whole-of-community capacity.

Live4Life:

• Delivers evidence-based mental health education in schools and community
• Creates local partnerships between schools, councils, local services and community organisations to lead conversations about mental health and suicide prevention.
• Promotes young leaders as Mental Health Ambassadors in the ‘Crew,’ our youth leadership program
• Mentors/supports communities to implement the model

Since Live4Life began in 2010, the model has been implemented in 13 Live4Life communities, across 14 local government areas (Vic/Tas). Almost 30,000 young people and 3,100 adults have received evidence-based mental health education. 20+ communities are waitlisted and keen to implement our award-winning model.

Funding will support scaling to more rural and regional communities, reaching more young people living in these communities, where the suicide rate is now 50% higher than in metro areas (2023 ABS Causes of Death data), and 63% of young people are unable to access the mental health support they need (2019 Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System’s Interim Report).
