YWCA Australia has been advancing gender equality and supporting women for more than 140 years. As a national not-for-profit, they combine frontline service delivery, lived experience leadership, and evidence-based practice to create lasting solutions for women, gender diverse people, and their families.

YWCA know Australia’s housing crisis is not gender neutral. Women and gender diverse people face disproportionate housing insecurity, compounded by domestic and family violence, additional caring duties, wages disparity, and other structural inequalities. These challenges demand a gender-responsive approach.

Through trauma-informed services spanning domestic and family violence support, specialist homelessness services, family and community programs, and leadership pathways, YWCA help women build safety, stability, and the future they want.

YWCA is also a national advocacy organisation and community housing provider, working with women-led families to address long-term security through the provision of more than 500 homes, while driving systems change and ensuring lived experience voices shape the policies and solutions that affect them.

Their Future 2032 strategy will expand targeted support services, grow their pipeline of community housing, and strengthen their commitment to lived experience leadership; measuring meaningful outcomes in safety, wellbeing, economic security, agency, and influence.
