Project Summary
In 2025, Bus Stop Films will deliver our most ambitious national showcase tour to date, a celebration of creativity, inclusion, and storytelling. The tour will honour the achievements of participants in our Accessible Filmmaking Program, presenting red carpet premieres across 12 major Australian cities.
Each event will screen powerful short films created by people with disability working alongside professional filmmakers and mentors. These films highlight the talent, creativity, and determination of our participants while demonstrating the impact of authentic inclusion in the screen industry.
For audiences and partners alike, these events are more than film screenings, they are a national movement toward a more equitable and inclusive society. Every event is fully accessible, featuring Auslan interpretation, accessible venues, and captioned films to ensure everyone can share in the celebration.
To make this celebration possible, and to continue delivering our life-changing programs, we rely on the generosity of corporate sponsors, philanthropic supporters, and community partners. Your support will directly enable us to roll out the red carpet across the country, amplify diverse voices, and continue building a film industry where everyone belongs both on and off screen.
Project Outcomes
The 2025 Bus Stop Films National Showcase Tour will generate lasting social, cultural, and economic impact by celebrating and advancing inclusive filmmaking across Australia.
Through red carpet premieres in 12 major cities, the project will showcase the creative achievements of more than 250 participants with disability, highlighting their talent and contribution to the screen industry. The tour will increase national visibility for people with disability in film, challenging stereotypes and demonstrating the value of authentic representation on screen.
We expect the tour to reach more than 5,000 live attendees and a broader online audience through media coverage and digital engagement. Each event will bring together audiences, industry professionals, and community partners to experience the power of inclusive storytelling and explore pathways for greater participation in the screen sector.
The project will also strengthen employment and training outcomes for participants, with many gaining paid work experience through event delivery, media, and production support. Local partnerships developed through the tour will create enduring networks that promote accessibility, inclusion, and diversity within the arts.
Beyond the immediate impact, the showcase tour will enhance Bus Stop Films’ capacity to deliver high-quality, accessible events nationwide, reinforcing our position as a leader in inclusive filmmaking.
By celebrating our participants’ achievements and sharing their stories with audiences across Australia, this project will inspire change, foster inclusion, and help build a film industry and a society where everyone’s voice is seen, heard, and valued.
