Project Summary

The Spear Foundation is committed to fostering resilience, equity, and sustainable impact through culturally immersive initiatives for Aboriginal people. By addressing systemic barriers, the Djeelya Impact Program is a 2-year ‘learn to earn’ program breaking the cycles of crime for young Aboriginal women, instead providing them with training and work & life readiness skills to create long-term sustainable change.

The Djeelya Social Enterprise is for-profit business designed to generate revenue that will directly fund the ongoing delivery of the Djeelya Program. Rather than relying on traditional grant cycles, this commercial venture builds collaborative partnerships with established consumer personal care and wellness brands, providing culturally informed expertise and ethical sourcing solutions. Through these partnerships, the enterprise will drive sustainable financial support for the Djeelya Program, ensuring its long-term viability.

The core objectives of the Djeelya Social Enterprise include:
– Establishing strategic alliances with personal care and wellness brands to embed culturally responsible practices into their products.
– Creating a commercial revenue stream that funds the Djeelya Program.
– Upholding cultural integrity and ethical sourcing, ensuring that Aboriginal traditions and values remain central to business operations.
– Building a self-sustaining business model that strengthens the foundation’s ability to deliver impact-driven programs.

Through this approach, the Djeelya Social Enterprise leverages commerce to support long-term social change, ensuring that the Djeelya Program continues to empower communities without financial uncertainty and provide sustainable scalability for the Djeelya impact program. We are seeking funding for Stage 1 of the social Enterprise – Consultation and Planning.

Project Outcomes

The Djeelya Social Enterprise Strategy is designed to establish a sustainable, for-profit business that builds collaborative partnerships with consumer personal care and wellness brands. Through this model, the enterprise will generate revenue to fund the ongoing delivery of the Djeelya Program, ensuring financial independence and long-term impact without reliance on external grants.

The project outcomes for Stage One of the strategy include:
– Market Research & Industry Alignment: Conducting thorough competitive analysis and consumer insights to position Djeelya within the wellness and personal care sector.
– Strategic Partnerships: Identifying and securing collaborations with brands that align with Djeelya’s values and cultural integrity.
– Defined Business Model: Developing a clear framework for revenue generation and operational sustainability to ensure consistent financial support for the Djeelya Program.
– Brand & Product Scope: Establishing a roadmap for cultural authenticity and ethical sourcing practices within commercial partnerships.
– Operational Blueprint: Outlining key activities, investment areas, and measurable success indicators for future expansion.
– Brand and product development.

Stage two of the strategy will focus on the execution of the plan, including a go-to-market launch campaign.

By achieving these milestones, the Djeelya Social Enterprise will position itself as a viable, ethical business model that directly supports community empowerment while maintaining cultural integrity and economic independence. This strategy ensures that the Djeelya Program remains financially secure and continues to deliver vocational training, employment pathways, and cultural education for future generations.
