Our work aims to reduce hardship, strengthen cultural identity, and promote inclusion and community wellbeing.

Project Summary

The Alnoor Betterment Group will deliver a six-session Community Capacity Building Workshop Series in Ellenbrook, starting 25 February 2026, designed to empower culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) community members, particularly Arabic-speaking adults, to develop skills, confidence, and networks to lead community initiatives.

The workshops will be held weekly on Saturdays and focus on leadership, project planning, fundraising, effective communication, social impact measurement, and showcasing participant-led initiatives. Each session will be interactive, facilitated by experienced community leaders and practitioners, and provide practical tools for participants to implement sustainable projects in their communities.

This initiative addresses barriers that many CaLD community members face in accessing mainstream programs and promotes inclusive participation, skill development, and social cohesion. By equipping participants with knowledge, confidence, and connections, the project fosters sustainable social change and strengthens the capacity of local communities.

Project Outcomes

The project aims to:
- Equip at least 60 participants with leadership, project management, and community engagement skills.
- Support the development of 10 participant-led community initiatives within six months.
- Strengthen local networks, collaboration, and peer support among CaLD community members.
- Increase participants’ confidence and capacity to design and implement sustainable projects in their communities.

Success will be measured through pre- and post-workshop skill assessments, participant feedback surveys, and follow-up tracking of community projects initiated. By the end of the series, participants will have actionable plans for community initiatives, stronger networks, and enhanced skills to continue contributing positively to their communities.
