Helping Out Homies Inc. is a volunteer-led charity based in Ipswich, Queensland, committed to supporting individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness and socio-economic disadvantage.
Our goal is to provide direct, compassionate support to vulnerable people through food relief, essential supplies, and community connection.
We respond to the increasing demand for frontline support in our region by offering free food hampers, school snack packs, toiletry kits, pet food assistance, and direct outreach to rough sleepers, including camping gear and other vital items. We also run regular street feeds, offering hot meals and desserts to those in need.
Since launching in 2024, we have supported an average of 450 individuals and families per month.
The demand for our services is increasing monthly as more and more individuals find themselves in need, and we are always happy to help.
Our organisation is best placed to do this work because we are locally based and community-driven. We understand the unique needs of our region and deliver fast, flexible support with compassion and understanding . Every donation and support we receive goes directly into helping those who need it most.
Our organisation is devoted to expanding our food delivery services , and providing consistent support to all those in need, regardless of their circumstances.

Project Summary
As the levels of homelessness and socio-economic disadvantage continue to rise, so does the demand for support from organisations like ours. Helping Our Homies is a completely volunteer based charity, relying entirely on self-funding and community donations. While this has allowed us to support hundreds of people each month in Ipswich and surrounding suburbs, it also places a limit on how far our area of operation can extend, especially into rural and remote communities, where need is growing rapidly.
Many individuals and families living outside our current service area lack transport or access to existing support networks. As a result, they are falling through the cracks and going without the most basic necessities.
Our project aims to address this gap by launching a mobile delivery and outreach service. With the help of grant funding, we plan to purchase and repurpose a vehicle to act as an official transport and service vehicle for our organisation. This will allow us to deliver food hampers, toiletry kits, camping gear, pet food, and other essentials directly to people who would otherwise go without.
The mobile service will enable us to build stronger connections with isolated communities, provide consistent support, and respond more rapidly to urgent needs. With the right resources, we can extend our impact beyond Ipswich and bring dignity, relief, and hope to those who need it most.
Project Outcomes
We are trying to expand our organisations services by creating a delivery service that will not only aid us to provide our services to a greater amount of people in need but will also provide a larger area of operation, as we will be able to access the resources required to expand to other areas.
The purchasing and repurposing of a vehicle to be used as a delivery vehicle and mode of transport for our charity, would open the doors to this goal.
The mobile service would not only allow us to provide our services in areas usually out of our reach, but would also allow us to be able to provide these services to those in need in a quick and and urgent manner, improving our crisis response capabilities.
We will know we have achieved this goal through the connections we will be able to make in our community and the difference we can make to those in need in our community and surrounding communities.
