The Lions Festival for Disadvantaged Children (WA) Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation committed to improving the lives of disadvantaged children across Western Australia. Our mission is to create inclusive and joyful experiences for children who may otherwise miss out due to social, economic, or health-related challenges.

We address the pressing issue of childhood disadvantage by hosting inclusive, community-based events that offer positive social experiences, such as the annual RAZZAMATAZZ VARIETY SHOW and the WORLD FESTIVAL OF MAGIC. These events provide entertainment, gifts, and refreshments to thousands of children and their families, free of charge.

Our organisation is uniquely positioned to deliver these programs due to our strong volunteer base, community/ local business partnerships, and decades of experience working directly with families and service providers across WA.

We are focused on expanding access to our events in regional areas, supporting local charities, and enhancing online event offerings to reach more children. Funding will directly support event logistics, transportation, gift packs, and accessibility services.

In 2023, we reached over 5,000 children across WA. Feedback from schools and families consistently highlights the emotional and social value of these experiences.

Project Summary

The RAZZAMATAZZ VARIETY SHOW is an inclusive event organised by the Lions Festival for Disadvantaged Children (WA), aimed at bringing joy and emotional uplift to children with special needs and those facing socio-economic hardship across Western Australia. The show provides free entertainment, gifts, and refreshments to over 5,000 children annually, offering a safe, welcoming experience that promotes social inclusion and mental well-being. Surplus funds support local charities such as the Australian Lions Children’s Mobility Foundation. This year’s project seeks funding to cover performer fees and accessibility tools, enhancing the event’s reach and impact for vulnerable children.

Project Outcomes

The expected outcomes are improved mental well-being for children, increased community inclusion, and sustained funding for local charities. Success will be measured by attendance, funds raised, and feedback. Achieving our targets ensures continued support for children and reinvestment in local services.

We aim to reach over 5,000 disadvantaged and special needs children, offering them a joyful, inclusive experience that fosters belonging and emotional uplift. Positive feedback from families and schools will guide future improvements.

Additionally, surplus funds will be distributed to trusted organisations such as the Australian Lions Children’s Mobility Foundation, extending the impact well beyond the event itself.
