Nurture Nation Food Hut
Our organisation is a volunteer run public benevolent institute. We provide assistance to disadvantaged groups by way of food packages and referral to services that may help them.
We also assist women and children suffering from family and domestic violence helping them to make a safe exit plan unique to their situation.
Project Summary
Our organisation is working to establish a safe house for women with livestock, and animals that are escaping family and domestic violence. These women have a love of their land and animals, but cannot find suitable housing for their unique circumstances.
They also cannot remain in the violatile relationship, out of genuine fear for their, and their children’s safety.
This safe house will be temporary accomodation for the animals of the women escaping an abusive relationship.
Project Outcomes
We know the emotional turmoil and the courage that it takes for a woman to leave an abusive relationship. We want to make it one step easier for women with livestock, to come out of it alive.
They are a priority group of women, that are semi-rural or rural, and may be farmers, or women with livestock. These women can hardly even get out of their abusive relationships. They have nowhere to place their animals, and they know that their abusive partners will kill, hurt or neglect their animals, if they were to leave without them.
