Saltbush, Balnarring Beach is a not for profit, charitable organisation that exists to enrich the lives of people experiencing hardship by providing a peaceful environment for rest, play, growth and connection.
Our vision is restorative holidays and experiences for those who need it most.
We welcome families, individuals and groups for holidays, programs and retreats.
Our guests are usually referred to us by community service organisations, schools, and hospitals in Victoria.
Saltbush continues the vision established by the Presentation Sisters, when they started the centre in 1989. Since opening, Saltbush has welcomed over 30,000 people experiencing hardship for a restorative holiday, program, or retreat.

Project Summary

Saltbush Balnarring Beach provides sanctuary to almost 2,000 women and families each year, many of whom are navigating trauma, displacement, and the ongoing threat of domestic violence. For these guests, safety is absolutely essential, and many of them live with the constant fear of being found, and their need for secure, discreet refuge is urgent.

That’s why we’ve made the decision to upgrade our security infrastructure, beginning with the installation of the latest technology security cameras across the property and at each guest house.

This initiative is part of our broader commitment to trauma-informed care, ensuring that every guest can rest, heal, and rebuild their lives in an environment that honours their dignity and protects their wellbeing. With your continued support, we can continue to offer the safety, stability, and hope and our guests.

Project Outcomes

Upgrading or wireless security systems including security cameras across the property.
