Campfire Healing Indigenous Corporation is a First Nations–led, community-controlled charity based in Mount Isa, Queensland. Our mission is to reconnect people with culture, strengthen resilience, and create sustainable futures through Aboriginal knowledge, healing practices, and on-Country programs.
We address the urgent need for culturally safe pathways to wellbeing, environmental sustainability, and economic participation. Many remote Aboriginal communities face barriers to health care, digital inclusion, and employment. By drawing on ancient bush medicine knowledge, digital storytelling, and intergenerational teaching, we provide practical, community-owned solutions.
Our current priorities include:
• Healing on Country Camps blending bush medicine, cultural education, and mental health support.
• Ngurru Mirrka – Healing the Body: a natural skincare and wellness enterprise that creates jobs while protecting and promoting Aboriginal bush medicine.
• Digital Skills & Storytelling programs that connect remote communities to new markets and amplify First Nations voices.
• Environmental Sustainability Initiatives such as traditional fire management, bush regeneration, and climate resilience projects.
Funding will strengthen our ability to deliver these initiatives, expand employment pathways for Aboriginal youth, and protect traditional ecological knowledge. Already, we have delivered sold-out community workshops, partnered with local councils and Aboriginal organisations, and developed products stocked across regional outlets.
As a registered charity with DGR endorsement, Campfire Healing Indigenous Corporation is uniquely placed to deliver measurable impact—healing people and Country while building sustainable futures led by Aboriginal knowledge.
