Spirit of Woman is a not-for-profit organisation committed to changing the conversation around domestic and family violence (DFV) in Australia. Our name honours the enduring strength and spirit of women impacted by DFV, both those who survive and those we have lost.
At the heart of our mission is The Place of Courage, a series of public memorial spaces across South Australia, beginning in Adelaide’s CBD. These thoughtfully designed spaces acknowledge the profound impact of DFV, offering a place for grieving, healing, and hope. They serve as vital tools to reduce the long-term trauma of DFV and to help prevent future violence.
Spirit of Woman works with an extended network of changemakers; government agencies, not-for-profits, businesses, and individuals who are united in the pursuit of gender equality and social change. We work to empower survivors, educate communities, and support the next generation in building a culture free from violence. We stand in solidarity with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and culturally diverse communities, ensuring our work reflects inclusivity, respect, and healing.
