Whittlesea Community Connections (WCC) is a community-led organisation that works across the outer north to:
– Create opportunities that build and strengthen connections
– Identify and break down barriers to accessing information and specialised support services
– Self-enable the community
– Build individual and community resilience.
Our vision is for a Whittlesea in which people and agencies work together to make a positive difference in their community. This ensures that everyone has equal access to the community’s resources and services.
Our strategic priorities are:
– Women achieve equitable life outcomes and are safe from violence
– Young people have a sense of belonging and voice in their community
– There is equitable access to employment opportunities within a sustainable local economy
– People lead healthy lives connected to community and services
– Whittlesea is resilient community that is empowered to protect, prepare and adapt to a changing local environment in partnership with our First Nations and diverse communities
Funding will support one of our programs, the Food Collective, which aims to create a more equitable food system in the outer north through community-based food production and distribution.
