Project Summary

At One Voice, our mission is simple yet powerful: to restore dignity and hope by providing something most of us take for granted — access to a safe, clean shower. We believe that no one should have to risk abuse or humiliation just to meet a basic human need.

Since our beginnings, we have continually evolved to meet this need in innovative ways. In 2014, we launched Australia’s first Mobile Shower Trailer, proving the concept and demand. Building on that success, we introduced the world’s first Mobile Shower Bus in Melbourne (2015) and later expanded to Sydney (2016). By 2017, we added laundry facilities with a Mobile Shower and Laundry Van, learning that showers remained the highest priority.

In 2018, we redeveloped our service into a purpose-built Mobile Shower Truck, offering more space and comfort, ensuring every person who stepped inside felt respected and valued. Beyond hygiene, these facilities became safe spaces where people could pause, breathe, and connect.

Since 2019, we have focused on collaboration — partnering with local service providers to operate Mobile Shower Trucks across states. This model extends our reach, links people to wraparound supports, and accelerates pathways out of homelessness.

We will continue to innovate and expand, not just delivering showers but creating moments of dignity, trust, and connection. Because at the heart of everything we do is the belief that restoring dignity is the first step toward restoring hope.

Project Outcomes

One Voice already operates Australia’s first Mobile Shower Services — a proven, world-first initiative that since 2014 has provided tens of thousands of safe, clean showers for people experiencing homelessness. These services are not a concept; they already exist, and they work. Every shower we provide restores dignity, safety, and hope to someone who may otherwise face the risk and humiliation of bathing in public spaces.

Our goal now is to maintain these vital services and expand their reach. The demand is growing, and the need is urgent. We are committed to ensuring our Mobile Shower Trucks continue operating in Melbourne, Sydney, and beyond, while also building new partnerships so more communities across Australia can access this life-changing service.

We know we have achieved our mission when:
- Existing shower services remain fully operational and sustainable year after year.
- We expand to new regions, increasing the number of Mobile Shower Trucks in service.
- Thousands of showers are delivered annually, each one a moment of restored dignity.
- Individuals consistently report feeling cleaner, safer, and more hopeful after using our service.
- More people are connected from our showers into housing, healthcare, and employment support.
- Success is measured both in scale and in stories: every new truck deployed, every city reached, and every individual who walks away not just clean, but confident. Maintaining and expanding this service means more people can take the first step towards rebuilding their lives.
