TRK Care is a non-profit children's charity located in Knoxfield, Melbourne, dedicated to supporting kids' mental health and wellbeing. Our primary initiative involves providing specially curated Mental Health Wellbeing Packs to children through Australian foster agencies. These packs are meticulously designed to nurture emotional intelligence, resilience, and kindness—essential tools for navigating life's challenges.
Each Mental Health Wellbeing Pack includes directed journals, gratitude journals, positive affirmation cards, managing emotions cards, and positive affirmation stationary. The focus throughout is on fostering a growth mindset, encouraging children to develop positive habits and perspectives from a young age.
Our mission extends beyond immediate support; we aim to instil lasting habits that promote overall wellbeing. By establishing routines around healthy eating, adequate sleep, and regular exercise, we help children lay the foundation for a healthy lifestyle. Moreover, the inclusion of gratitude practices and mindfulness techniques in our packs aims to enhance mental clarity and emotional stability.
Regular engagement with positive affirmations is a cornerstone of our approach. By encouraging children to affirm their strengths and potential, we empower them to cultivate a positive self-perception and bolster their self-esteem.
Through these initiatives, TRK Care strives to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children, equipping them with the tools they need not only to cope but to thrive in an often challenging world.
Project Summary
Our project involves partnering with predominantly Australian brands that share our commitment to fostering children’s growth mindset and resilience. We collaborate with these brands to procure their products such as journals, cards, and stationery, which we then include in TRK Care packs. Many of these brands are small businesses owned by women/psychologists who are deeply passionate about children’s wellbeing.
To date, we have successfully donated over 100 TRK Care packs to several foster agencies including Berry Street, Life Without Barriers, Pyjamas Angels, and Anchor Foster Agency. These partnerships enable us to reach children in need and provide them with essential tools that promote emotional intelligence, positivity, and mental wellness.
Through our initiative, we aim not only to support the wellbeing of children but also to empower and uplift local businesses that share our values. By collaborating with brands that prioritize children’s growth and development, we strengthen our collective impact and contribute to creating a more supportive environment for vulnerable children in our community.
Project Outcomes
Our project aims to expand our support to more Australian foster agencies in Victoria, with the goal of reaching as many children as possible. Our primary outcome is to equip these children with essential tools to effectively manage their emotions and enhance their mental health.
Through our TRK Care packs, we aspire to instil healthy routines around diet, sleep, and physical activity. These routines are crucial for overall wellbeing and provide a foundation for a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, our packs include practices such as gratitude and positive affirmations, which are designed to promote better mental and emotional health.
Ultimately, our goal is to empower children with the skills and resources they need to navigate life's challenges with resilience and confidence. By fostering emotional intelligence and promoting positive mindset practices from a young age, we believe we can make a meaningful impact on their lives.
Expanding our reach to more foster agencies allows us to broaden our impact and support a greater number of children who may benefit from these tools and skills.
